What did I think of pokemon: 2000? Well, again, it depends on which parts you mean.
Pikachu's rescue adventure was totally disorganized and irrelivent in the end. It gets a 10% satisfaction rating. While they lost Togepi, found it, and went to look for the missing eggecute, they didn't find it. In fact, a Chansey brought it TO them. Also, unlike Pikachu's Vacation, there was no translation whatsoever, so often you had no idea what the pokemon were talking about. Island of the Giant Pokemon is one of my favorite episodes because you know what the pokemon are saying, but Pikachu's rescue adventure was a total mess. The only good part about it was the song and dance number starring Bellosum. And to sum it up, three catagories...
The Good: Song and dance number.
The Bad: No translations and hard to follow.
The Ugly: Eggecute are more egg then cute.
The Power of One was an okay movie, but not that good or bad. I'd give it a 50% rating.
First of all, there was no villian. Yes, I know you're all leaping to say "The collector" or "Lawrence III" but let me explain. He wasn't evil, just a collector. A good villian, like Team Rocket or Mewtwo, wants to destroy things because they want to benifit at the expense of others. Sort of like the Joker, or most other comic-book villians. But Lawrence III only wanted to help himself without thinking of the concequences. He didn't want to hurt anybody. He didn't consider the pokemon as people, so he didn't think he was doing anything bad, and he didn't realize he was upsetting the balance in nature, because he was too wrapped up in his collecting.
Second, Brock had no speaking lines. While I respect Tracey... wait a second... no I don't. Brock was a much better secondary male character, especially since Tracey had few lines at all (though he did have a humerous interruption to an early Misty/Melody argument) I was glad that Brock appeared in the background, but he didn't say anything.
Finally, the legendary birds were evil. Before I saw the movie, I was expecting Lugia and the birds to have to team up against Lawrence, or for lawrence to have sent the birds into battle against Lugia. I was dissapointed to see that the birds were acting cruely and fighting out of free will.
But there were some good points. The biggest thing is, while I don't like that the birds fought Lugia, it was a very good fight scene every time. The fights were very exiting to watch. I also enjoyed watching Lawrence capture the birds. The action was nice.
Second off, the movie was often funny. My favorite part was the Team Rocket conversation at the very end of the movie. There were some other humerous lines as well. And whenever Melody taunted Misty about being Ash's girlfriend I had to chuckle. I also liked early on the boat when Ash lets Charizard and Snorlax out.
Lastly, there were more cameos in this movie, which made it more enjoyable. The first movie didn't feature Oak, Ivy (well, she wasn't around yet), or Mama Ketchum, and the apperance of Gary was very minute. The new movie also introduced some new faces who we're actually going to remember. (Of course, nobody rememebers the OTHER three trainers who met Mewtwo, but I'll bet that EVERYBODY will remember Melody and Slowking.) And now... to sum it all up.
The Good: Lots of humor.
The Bad: The villian wasn't anywhere near as cool as in the first movie (Note: I am NOT trying to suck up to Mewtwo)
The Ugly: Tracey Sketchit
Remember, it all started... with a mew card.
Steve: Well, Lawrence III is really more of a Soran (Star Trek Generations) character. Also, I like tracey more than Brock, just because he's more subtle. Yes, PRA did stink.
Mewtwo: I hope I'm in the next movie!
Steve: Well, considering how the writers are so into recycling...
i write to ask some questions: what is a mewthree?, where can i find a
mewtwo and a mew in any version of the game?, what are the names of the
six new pokemon in Pokemon: The Movie 2000?
please answer as soon as you get this message.
Steve: Person? Person? PERSON? What am I, chopped liver?
Mewtwo: Apparently.
Steve: Shut up! Anyway, Mewthree was just something someone mentioned in Pokémon: TFM. The Pokémon are Elekid, Lugia, Sloking, Bellossum, Hoothoot, and Ledyba.
I noticed this part on the wizard facts page as a mistake...
- Finding a warp in SMB3 does not help your score (probably the opposite), so Corey's statement that, "he can jump points," is incorrect. However, the closed captioning for the Disney Channel version states, "jump a world," which is correct.
BUT, the word "points" is often used to specify a specific place, so Corey might have meant that he could jump to a different place. Just something to consider...
Steve: I doubt it. I mean, we're talking about kids here.
I just read what people wrote about my role models... HOW DARE THEY!!!!
Team Rocket are not dumb, sur they lose but only coz the twerps cheat all the time.
James is THE cutest guy to ever bless my TV screen,
Jessie is a sweetie, you just have to look to find it,
And Meowth is sooo cute!
Ok, so Jess can be mean, but look @ her childhood. She lost her Mom @ a young age and was never well off.
And Jimmy, he was whipped (literally) by Jezebel and bullied by his parents.
And Meowth, he learned to talk and walk for Meowsie and she just said he was a freak. Even when he battled the Persian (which could have lkilled him) she neglected him.
No wonder they're touchy. They're just wary. I was bullied A LOT a couple of years ago and am still getting over it, and at times, I can be touchy, because I think ,"Why me?"
I can totally understand them and underneath the tough exteriours are two team mates and beat friends in love, and really, is that so bad?
(And they are in love, have you never seen the end of Holy Matrimony. He passed up all that money and luxury for Jessie. And the way he looked at her in the balloon..... swoon!)
Thanx for listening, I feel better now,
Laura.
Ps: NOT EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!! COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve: Lay off the coffee, please.
Mewtwo: Now I'm scared.
Steve: The topic for next time is: What do you think of Gamecube and Game Boy Advance?
