Why We Love Pokémon MusicPokémon has produced a wide range of music: Pop, dance, ballad, rap, even polka. It is this variety that fuels the desire for the song that soothes us and moves us.
2.B.A. MasterIs this great or what? We've got everything from Team Rocket on this CD. There's everything from near-techno to straight guitar. The Pokérap music video is icing on the cake. Listening to this CD takes you back to the days when the Nasdaq was above 4,000 and the president was actually elected to office (hey, I never said you had to agree with my views).
Pokémon: The First Movie SoundtrackHmm...okay, this one stinks. Sure, M2M makes for a good pun on the movie's characters, but I can't say I love them. Then we have N*Sync and Britney Spears. I'm sorry, is this my sister's CD? Brother my Brother. Mewtwo: Would you quit with the bad puns? It's my editorial.
Pokémon WorldThree songs. Really Two. And I paid a full album price. Seemed like a god idea at the time. Sure, the songs are good, but there are so few of them. CD extras just aren't enough. And no, I'm not bothering with a top track list.
Pokémon: The Movie 2000 SoundtrackHey, this is pretty good. We've got Weird Al and the B-52s. O-Town has two tracks, and the rest of them have the word one in them (so it seems).
Totally PokémonYowza, another good one! Misty returns, along with a song from Brock and another from Jigglypuff. Unfortunately, the new Pokérap falls flat. This CD includes a latin track, an example of the wide range of Pokémon styles.
So, what does this all mean? Well, Pokémon hasn't been without its misses, but a wide variety of songs has kept the song alive. Only one question remains: Mewtwo: Why don't I have a song I guess that's good enough.
