With 26 days and a cold, this is Steven Reich with PokŽtalk for Sunday, October 17th, 
1999!

Well, this last week we've gotten the usual three new episodes. By they way, did 
anyone run into problems with the sound repeating over and over on Thursday's 
episode? By the way, next week, instead of new episodes, we get Team Rocket week. 
Let's see, Holy Matrimony, Go West Young Meowth, and, and, and I guess I'll have to 
watch to find out the rest. Don't despair though, because next month is sweeps month. 
Next weekend, we finally get to see Ash compete in the PokŽmon league.

In movie news, the movie web site has been expanded, and it turns out there will two 
soundtracks, one with pop songs, the other with the score. Don't think you can get out 
of buying the pop CD, because it contains a remix of the PokŽmon theme. The movie web
 site can be reached at www.pokemonthemovie.com.

And if Phillip Wesley of DMG ICE's source is right, Pikachu and company will be making
 their way to a cereal bowl near you later this year. Long-time listeners will remember
 this idea from a previous PokŽtalk. Perhaps...nah.

Ouch. Must be some bike. By the way, in case you're wondering, PMU stands for PokŽmon 
Monetary Units. This week, PokŽmon Yellow comes out in the US. I'm excited. In the 
latest poll, Which PokŽmon matchup would you most like to see, it was a tie between 
Pikachu VS Mickey Mouse and MewTwo VS the Psychic Friends Network. My choice? 
Jigglypuff VS Michael Jackson, because we all know she could, just beat him, just beat
 him, whoo! Beat him, beat him, use her pound attack and beat him. Sorry about that.

And this week, several new PokŽmon products were announced. One, the "I choose you" 
talking Pikachu, which is 100% guaranteed to drive your parents nuts. In Japan, a 
colorized version of the Pocket Pikachu will be introduced. Also, it will feature the 
ability to transfer data to the PokŽmon 2 game. Also, the PokŽmon PokŽdex was 
mentioned in the Cyberscope of last week's Newsweek.

Finally, in order to further sell PokŽmon Snap (and to make sure Blockbuster doesn't 
see fit to remove the Snap stations) Nintendo has announced a "Take your best shot 
contest." Winner gets an all-expense paid trip to Australia for a safari. Sure hope that 
all-expense thing covers bug spray.
