PokŽtalk for Sunday, February 20th, 2000: Yes, I'm Steven Reich, and here are your top stories for Sunday, February 20th, 2000: -No new PokŽmon episodes -New PokŽmon toys shown In our top story, there were no new episodes of PokŽmon this weekend. Next weekend we do get a new episode, as well as a bunch of first episodes from PokŽmon, Batman Beyond, and more. This, of course, is in preparation for the premiere of Max Steel, the new computer-generated show on Kids' WB. You know, there's toys out and the show's not even on yet. Wait, didn't Batman Beyond work that way too? In our other story, between this week's "Sneak Pikachu" webcast and the New York toy fair, we've got some really cool new toys coming out. Everything from fingerboards to candy was shown, but the real showstoppers were the electronic PokŽmon toys containing chips that keep track of wins and losses. There was also a talking PokŽdex and a Gold/Silver PokŽdex. Also, there will be more toys in the vein of the "I choose you" Pikachu. And now, PokŽbriefs: 1. A mother has expressed concern over a Charmander pillow. She's worried that the tail might pose a choking hazard. Quite frankly, I don't think so. 2. Continuing its streak of stupidity, my local school district decided not to cancel school this week. 3. And for those of you who just can't get enough of PokŽparodies, the CBS show "Everybody Loves Raymond" will feature Hakidu cards. And That's PokŽbriefs! And now, a little music: (Musical Interlude) That was the overworld theme from Super Mario Bros. 2. Now, for this week's editorial, a status report on the Wizard Petition. Unbenownst to me, shortly after the petition went up, my CGI host went down. I didn't realize this until Saturday, at which point I promptly fixed it. I now have 6 signatures. If you haven't signed, please do so, even if you haven't seen the movie. Please? Last week's poll asked if you would rather live in the world of PokŽmon. Unfortunately, last week's poll was also spammed. As a result, this week's poll asks the most controversial question of all time: Where's Waldo. If you're not gonna take the poll seriously, I'm not gonna take the poll seriously. Before we go, let's recap this week's top stories: -No new PokŽmon episodes -New PokŽmon toys shown Until next time, this is is Steven Reich, have a good week.
