PokŽtalk for Sunday, February 6th, 2000: Yes, I'm Steven Reich, and here are your top stories for Sunday, February 6, 2000: -Kids' WB shows three new episodes -Burger King starts recall TV ads This weekend, Kids' WB showed three new episodes of PokŽmon. Lou Bega was-okay. Next weekend we get two new episodes, and Jessie and James will deliver villain- tines. Next week features the Charmarathon. Yay. Burger King has started running ads notifying people of the recall of the suffocating PokŽballs. This ad, of course, is nowhere near as lavish as the ads for the Kids' Meals themselves. The ad consists of an open PokŽball with a narrator and text. In true Burger King form, however, the narrator incorrectly pronounces PokŽmon. Don't expect this ad to pop up on any of the popular channels, either. Your best bet is to look on cable. And now, PokŽbriefs! 1. Nintendo announced this week that they will make a special PokŽmon Stadium N64 bundle. It will include an N64, PokŽmon stadium game, and transfer pak. 2. Although no real announcements have been made about Nintendo's Dolphin, word has leaked out that it will be 33% more powerful than Sony's Playstation 2, and may be priced at $199.99. 3. Also, fans of the the movie The Wizard will be pleased to know that it will be shown on Monday, February 7th at 10:05 PM Eastern (9:05 PM central) on the Disney Channel. And that's PokŽbriefs! In this weeks' editorial, I'm going to discuss video-game based movies. Specifically, how to find out when they're on. As you heard, The Wizard is on this week, but I actually discovered that by accident. You see, every week, I browse through the TV Guide, and I look to see if the Mario movie is on. Now, TV Guide denotes each movie with a star rating. Now, the Mario movie earned a two-star rating, which is common for movies being played on TV. Oddly, The Wizard is a one-star movie. Of course, you could just listen to PokŽtalk every week, but then you might miss it if it were on the wrong day. Last week's poll asked if those Kids' WB PokŽmon marathons were making you go ballistic. Apparently, they were. This week's poll asks if you'd like to add a musical interlude to the middle of the show. Before we go, let's recap this week's top stories: -Kids' WB shows three new episodes -Burger King starts recall TV ads Until next time, this is is Steven Reich, have a good week.
