PokŽtalk for Sunday, January 30th, 2000:

Before we start today's show, I'd like to warn everyone that one of today's stories 
contains content that may not be suitable for young children. Although I try to keep 
this a family show, this is the news, and sometimes that's not possible. Rest assured 
that, for the most part, this show is suitable, I feel for most age groups. With that 
taken care of, here are your top stories for Sunday, January 30th, 2000:

- Kids' WB to show 3 new episodes of PokŽmon

- Teens charged in sexual assault involving PokŽmon cards

Although there was no new episode this weekend, February is sweeps month, and Kids' 
WB plans to put out three new PokŽmon episodes next weekend. Next weekend also 
brings us Lou Bega, known for his "Mambo #5." I have no idea what happened to two 
through four. All the other Kids' WB shows will have new episodes as well. Next week 
is maximum voltage week, starring you guessed it, the Energizer Bunny. I'm kidding! We 
all know who really is involved. 

This week, two teens were arrested, accused of exchanging PokŽmon cards for indecent
 acts from ten-year-olds. This operation was carried out from a trailer in the Las 
Vegas area. Cops moved in after a suspicious parent tipped them off. For the record, 
PokŽwatch finds such conduct deplorable, and believes it disgraces the name of 
PokŽmon. At the same time, we would also like to point out that candy and money have 
also been used, and that PokŽmon cards really have very little importance in this news 
story.

And Now, PokŽbriefs:

1. As if PokŽmon wasn't cheesy enough, Kraft announced this week they will introduce 
a PokŽmon Macaroni and Cheese.

2. Nintendo did not make an expected announcement this week concerning Dolphin, their
 upcoming system.

3. Yet another child has died due to suffocation caused by a Burger King toy PokŽball.

Well, I realized Coast to Coast News would get old very quickly, so I'm getting rid of 
that. Now, for this week's editorial, I'm going to talk about why I created the 
Dysfunctional PokŽmon site award. Now, it's not that these sites are of low quality, 
it's just that there's one or more things about them that really galls me. For example 
UPNetwork is fine when loading, but scrolling becomes a total chore due to the 
excessively small background image. I wouldn't know what to think of Bulbasaur's 
Mysterious Garden, though, due to its excessive html. Don't believe me? Take a look at 
the source of their page.

Last week's poll asked what you thought of the new theme song. Most of you wanted to 
convert the old episodes to it. This week's poll asks whether those crazy marathons 
Kids' WB puts up every week are making you go insane.
